Scrapbooks are judged on a regional club’s involvement in ApHC sponsored programs, such as Saddle Log, ACAAP, competitive trail riding, photo contests, etc. Club’s show bills, newsletters, local newspaper articles about community/club involvement, etc. may be placed in the scrapbook to show documentation of club activities. Individual member’s achievements may also be represented in the scrapbook.
Other areas of club involvement that are considered in the scrap book judging process are: the club’s efforts for membership recruitment, involvement of the club in community citizenship/charitable projects, and promoting club sponsored family events like, trail rides, clinics, and “fun days”. In addition, clubs are recognized for their involvement in locally promoting the appaloosa breed by participating in local events, such as parades and community celebrations.
Be sure and let our club secretary, Heather Joenks, know when “you are making news” in your community and send pictures, if possible for our scrap book project, newsletter and web page.
The winning Regional AYA club will receive a cash prize of $100, a plaque, recognition in the Appaloosa Journal magazine, and the opportunity of displaying their scrapbook at the ApHC Appaloosa Museum. LET’S BRING THIS AWARD HOME TO MRVAA!
